Violence at work: public evidence session

On Monday 26 January, the APPG heard presentations from a selection of trade unions representing frontline workers. Each spoke of the experience of violence in the workplace, and the policy and regulatory changes being sought.



Evidence was heard from:

  • Jane Maher, Senior Lay Representative, Passenger Transport, Unite

  • Daren Ireland, Assistant General Secretary, National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT)

  • Darren Northcott, National Officer, NASUWT (Teachers’ Union)

  • Mick Pimblett, Deputy General Secretary, POA (Prison Officers’ Association)

  • James Ratcliffe, Health and Safety Advisor, USDAW (Union of Shop, Distributive and Allied Workers)
